I’m really enjoying this book. There are some really interesting concepts like having space divided up into zones where the properties of physics work differently. Also, the idea of having beings - both natural and artificial - that can ascend and become gods and even trick humans into unleashing them is kind of cool. That aspect reminds me of how Ruin was able to change the literature about itself in Mistborn (2001).

The hive mind concept is also really interesting - the Tines are dog-like creatures that live in packs governed by a single mind or person.

Personally, we take comfort from this, that there is a universe to admire that cannot be twisted to villainy or good, but which simply is. quotes
